RADIO BROADCASTING UNITS (RBU)

PC-controlled units are intended to ensure address coverage at industrial, office and other facilities, arenas, halls, open spaces as part of LAS hardware and software package.

The units (RBU) may be implemented in:

  • Corporate radio broadcasting systems, radio broadcasting centers of settlements
  • Local address systems, fire alarm systems, chemical and radiation monitoring systems to alert staff and neighboring public residents
  • Regional public address systems
  • Command notification networks, etc.

The units (RBU) may operate:

  • in voice mode, audio mode, alarm mode.

The units (RBU) are controlled by a control PC connected to Switching and Control Unit (SCU) or Power Distribution Amplifier (PDA) by:

  • dedicated twin lead or two-wire voice frequency channel (through a PC-connected alarm trigger);
  • by Ethernet 10/100 BaseT network (local or dedicated);
  • VHF radio station.

Application:

The systems are intended to cover court assembly halls, meeting rooms in various institutions to support meetings, workshops, symposiums, etc.

Tasks:

  • To record voice with microphones allocated over the room
  • To enable/disable microphones, to mix microphone sound in any order
  • To amplify and broadcast voice in a hall through amplifiers and acoustic systems allocated over the room
  • To record speech through all microphones and save it on a PC
  • To shorthand speech on a PC in parallel to recording

The hardware is selected (including during design stage) according to room space, quality required, tasks.

Amplifying equipment, acoustic systems and mixing board may be equipped with hardware by Inter-M (S. Korea), DNH (Norway), Behringer (Germany), American Audio (USA), TOA (Japan) and other brands according to required quality, capacity, project budget.

Outdoor power distribution amplifiers 200W – (OPDA) units:

to be located outdoors and used in case of distant allocation of loudspeakers and control hardware where feeder lines cannot be cabled or are not appropriate. The unit is PC-driven through LAS hardware and consists of auxiliary power supply battery, anti-tamper switches, temperature control system, radio compartment, standard audio record storage device, LAS control unit.

Make: IP 66 wall-mounted box, temperature range: -40 to +70 °C.

Radio rack-mounted power distribution amplifiers – PDA units:

Specific features: Intended to be installed in radio racks (cabinets) of any capacity. Control hardware – OPDA units and/or SCU remote control boards.

Make: 19" 3U. 

The horn loudspeaker remote trigger (replacement to loudspeakers).

The unit decodes loudspeaker enable/disable commands and ensures relay switching of power distributor amplifier to radio feeder with max. 2kW load. Control hardware – PDA, SCU units.

Make: IP65 compact monoblock.

Control over power distributor amplifiers, radio racks from power amplifier set.
Functions: 

  • Switching power amplifier on/off
  • Transmission
  • Power amplifier output switching
  • Radio feeder selection and control

Includes: standard audio record storage unit, LAS control unit, line input, SCU remote control connectors.

Make: 19" 3U.

SCU power amplifier and radio rack remote control – radio broadcasting control board ensures manual selection of covered areas, loudspeaker mode, alarm generation and transmission source, and forms control commands for SCU. The unit features line, microphone and FM inputs.

Driven hardware: SCU control channel - twin lead up to 2 km long.

Make: desktop monoblock.

Radio broadcasting remote control software.

  • PC with installed radio broadcasting remote control software.
  • PC-based remote control board for transmission systems featuring SCU power amplifier controls (functionally similar to OPDA).
  • Ensures: transmission, switching power amplifier on/off, power amplifier output switching, radio feeder selection and control. Driven hardware: SCU.
  • Control channel: Еthernet.
